Title: Mikhail Grib's Yak-9U Post by: John Thompson on April 07, 2007, 01:33:43 AM Can anyone direct me to a photo of Mikhail Grib's Yak-9U? This aircraft was flown by the VVS ace late in the GPW, and had the same "White 22" marking as his well-known Yak-9D. The book "Yakovlev Yak-9U & P" by Robert Panek (published by Stratus/Mushroom Modeller Publications) shows a colour profile of his Yak-9U on page 91. The caption gives the upper surface colour as AMT-12, but the actual colour used in the profile is AMT-11, when compared to other profiles with the two-greys camouflage pattern. I believe I've seen a photo of the aircraft somewhere which I hope would answer the question of which colour is correct, but I haven't been able to locate it. Help, anyone?
