Very interesting. But I think that the most of Tu-2 were bombers or reconaissance planes, the torpedo plane was a postwar adaptation. Regards Massimo

Hmmm, this gets more and more interesting. I'm not into 1/48th scale, but as with Tamiya's new IL-2, I may have to make an exception with this Tu-2. Thank you for posting, Troy!

Jason

HI Jason Just noticed this on Britmodeller If you've a look in the images here below you discover that this Tu-2T kit is quoted as B48003. So what about B48001 and B48002 kits? Other Tu-2 versions? I'm not that up on the Tu-2, are the one in the kit a GPW era version? cheers T

I was just looking at parts layout. Obviously there will be also early version i.e. Tu-2VS (first series from Zavod 166). I base this on: - early style cockpit canopy on the sprue - glass nose tip (at least that is what i think it is) on the sprue - strange cutouts with plugs just outside of neccele on lower wing (where divebreaks would be located in early war version) which otherwise defy explanation

I think you're correct, TISO, it looks like a GPW-version will be coming up (I hope!).

Very nice - thank you again for the link, TISO! It looks like the early war version has the huge 2,000 kg (4,440 lb.) bomb in the bomb-bay. I didn't realise that some of the Tu-2's, perhaps only the early ones, carried the RS rockets.
Regards,
Jason
