Title: Images from Red Stars videotape: Yak-3
Post by: Massimo Tessitori on November 24, 2006, 10:17:47 PM
Thanks to Oleg,? :) we have some interesting images to discuss.
To begin with...

It looks a Yak-3 with all oversurfaces in AMT-12 dark grey, white spinner and a white nail on the rudder.
Oleg, is it possible to know if there is another digit on the number, please?
Thanks again for the images. Further ones will be welcome.

Massimo

If I'm not mistaken, this aircraft belong to 3-d IAK, no further info available, since i took only best possible shots.

Indeed nice looking Yak-3.

Oleg, what does it make you to suppose that this is Yak-3 from 3 IAK??
I am sure I have seen this sign on the nose of Yak already. Need to refresh my memory. But it look familiar to me! :)

Hi,  :)
so, isn't the number visible on the movie? Sometimes I noticed that moving images give better details than screenshots.

Hi, :)
I've found an image of this line on SAFFC pag.199.
A plane (with a slightly different mark on the nose) is numbered 94. The caption says that they are in Central Moscow aerodrome in 1946.
