Title: Russian propeller blade Post by: Pascal on April 15, 2013, 09:55:19 PM Hi,
A friend of mine asked me about a propeller blade found forty years ago in North of France, from a German aircraft wreck. Markings on this blade appears to be russian! It seems that it could came from an I-153. Some of these were used by German, apparently. Here are some pics of the blade: (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1210.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4423&u=10060448) - (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1220.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4433&u=10060448) - (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1212.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4425&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1213.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4426&u=10060448) - (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1214.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4427&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1215.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4428&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1216.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4429&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1217.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4430&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1218.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4431&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1219.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4432&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1221.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4434&u=10060448) (http://i74.servimg.com/u/f74/10/06/04/48/pscn1222.jpg) (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4435&u=10060448) Maybe someone here could say more about this mysterious thing? Thanks to you, Pascal Title: Re: Russian propeller blade Post by: KL on April 15, 2013, 11:10:20 PM Hi Pascal, :)
Thank for the interesting photos! It looks that your friends blade is just over 140cm long. ??? blured pictures... It can not be I-153 because its propeller had diameter = 2.8m. No room for shaft and mechanism between the shaft and the propeller. It's more likely propeller from German Avia B-71. Its propeller had diameter of 3.25m. Avia target tugs were based in Holland. it's too strange that a Czech-built plane has inscriptions in cyrillic. It's certainly a Soviet-made plane. A photo to support French connection: (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oL27pScShrw/TwHYR48xulI/AAAAAAAAD7A/84cSxBBERXk/s1600/aviab711.jpg) Title: Re: Russian propeller blade Post by: Pascal on April 16, 2013, 04:34:03 PM Nice photo! With a rare colour view of a Bloch MB.152... It proves that some A-71 were also in France. Thank you again!
