According to his experience, slogans on Il-2s photographed over Berlin were all painted after the war for propaganda movies. Besides, he writes about the use of yellow bands on Il-2s too. Was that movie, the "Victory", ever finished? I saw BW stills from it, and from time to time brief episodes from it with Il-2s with inscription flying in formation are used in documentary programs on TV.
