Hi, I've added a MiG-3 profile, and corrected a detail of the slogan on the right side of La-5s of VCH. Massimo

Hello Massimo:
It looks like the photo can?t be seen, just a rectangle with the red cross. Best regards:

That's a great photo - I like the way it shows the details of the upper cowling surface on the early MiG-3. I was converting a HobbyBoss 1/72 MiG-3 to the early type - I see now that my scoops and bumps are much too big! John

Thank You for fixing the link, that is a very nice photo. it shows a hole where the antenna mast goes, but we do not know if it was never fitted or was removed.(damaged?) also was there an item removed for the rails for the sliding portion of the canopy? I'm not sure of the name ,but it is a 'D' shaped thing at the bottom section of the rear canopy. [/color]

Hi DGM, the d-shaped thing should cover the heads of the screws fixing the mid fuselage to the rear part. Massimo

Hi John, it would be nice to see photos of it. Massimo Okay (if this works) - here's a photo of the upper surface of the cowling, with those scoops and bumps: Hey, whaddaya know - it worked! This is my first attempt at model photography, and my first upload of a model photo, so please be patient - once I get some practice, I'll really make a pest of myself!? John

Excellent, job, John!! Will we see this one actually finished? I like how HB does the windscreen. Wish all model companies handled it this way.

Matt, Libor, Massimo, and Martin - thank you all very much! I really appreciate the kind words from so many expert modelbuilders. Seeing Libor's amazing work on the HB MiG-3 was a great inspiration, and Massimo's MiG-3 reference pages and MMP book are wonderful sources of information.
John
