photo is from the "Krasnaya Zvezda" (Red Star) newspapers for March 23, 1936. Text describes just finished N-127, as it looked before the flight tests. Colours and markings are described in following way:
Самолет окрашен в зеленый и красный цвета. На хвостовом оперении ? флаг арктической авиации. На плоскостях и фюзеляже ? белые опознавательные знаки ?СССР Н-127?. Буква ?Н? означает, что самолет предназначен для полетав в Арктике.Aircraft is painted in green and red colors. On its tail - the flag of the Arctic aviation. On wings and on the fuselage - white markings "SSSR N-127." Letter "N" means that the aircraft is designed for Arctic flights.
After it completed its mission, N-127 returned to Moscow on May 21, 1936. "Pravda" reporter L. Hvat describes N-127 landing in following words"
"Темнозеленая машина, поблескивая в солнечных лучах, идет на посадку.""
Dark green plane, shining in the sun, is landing"
Vodopianov's description in my previous post, is from his
book published in 1937, so we are not talking about the memoirs written decades after the expedition.
