Title: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: B_Realistic on November 05, 2012, 08:13:06 PM Hi,
Because my Il-2 is almost finished my next project will be the Mig-17PF from Hobby Boss. Does anyone has some pictures of weahtered Mig-17's? When I take a look at Aircraftresourcecenter or Primeportal they are museum Mig's. Thanks. thanks for all the links. :D I've put those one in my favourites. That's what I needed. Michel Title: Re: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: John Thompson on November 06, 2012, 05:41:14 PM I'm glad I could help! The one in my first post looks pretty rough - check those "Low-visibility" markings! ;)

I've noticed that there aren't any markings anymore. That's what I like about it. All weahtered so it's nice as a reference for using those techniques. I ask this before I use a wrong color. :D Title: Re: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: John Thompson on November 10, 2012, 05:11:07 PM Does anyone knows which cockpit colors I can use for the Mig-17PF? ??? I ask this before I use a wrong color. :D Here's another MiG-17 walkaround; it's a -17F, but I'd believe that the cockpit colours were the same as the -17PF. These photos were taken while the aircraft was being disassembled for restoration; I hope they're helpful! http://www.ratomodeling.com/references/mig17F/ John Title: Re: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: Massimo Tessitori on November 10, 2012, 05:43:11 PM Hi John, hi Michel,
I've often seen turquoise cockpits for MiGs. Could this be a Czech-built plane, with grey inside? I suggest to check for further confirmations. Regards Massimo Title: Re: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: John Thompson on November 10, 2012, 06:25:31 PM Hi John, hi Michel, I've often seen turquoise cockpits for MiGs. Could this be a Czech-built plane, with grey inside? I suggest to check for further confirmations. Regards Massimo I believe the colour you're referring to was used on later MiG's (MiG-21, MiG-23), but not the MiG-15 and MiG-17. This search result might be useful, but note that not all of the images are of the MiG-17. Hover your cursor over any of the images to get a brief description: http://www.google.ca/search?q=MiG-17+cockpit&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&rlz=1I7GGLL_en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=x4yeUMWGFIrY2gX7noAI&ved=0CCAQsAQ&biw=1152&bih=676 John Title: Re: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: AC26 on November 10, 2012, 06:45:19 PM Hi John, hi Michel, I've often seen turquoise cockpits for MiGs. Regards Massimo I believe the colour you're referring to was used on later MiG's (MiG-21, MiG-23), but not the MiG-15 and MiG-17. At least Finnish MiG-21Fs and Us, delivered 1963-1965, were grey inside. Cheers, AaCee Title: Re: Mig-17 Walk Around needed Post by: B_Realistic on November 10, 2012, 06:55:35 PM @John
They are very helpful. :D @Massimo The specific turquoise green was used after the Mig-17 and introduced from the Mig-21. |
