Title: Mongolskii Arat Post by: FPSOlkor on September 06, 2006, 09:54:08 PM For some time i've met different colour profiles of this squad from 2-nd GvIAP. Just today i met a pilot from that detachment and he told me that they were RED ONLY! So be cautious, plz.

thank you for the warning. Are you working on a new interview? Massimo Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: FPSOlkor on September 07, 2006, 12:20:54 AM I've made 3 already, actually. The problem is in transfering sound in to text file. I hope to finish in a month time 1 in russian, and translate it in to inglish in a couple of weeks more time. Prepare some space... ;D

This is incorrect one. Nose - red, Sign - red, Cammo - green-gray, On top of the fin - white "cap". http://vif2ne.ru/nvi/forum/files/Flieger/2_GvIAP_1.jpg This one is better, but cammo is wrong to Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: Massimo Tessitori on September 09, 2006, 11:44:08 PM Hi, :)
do you mean that the darker grey was greenish, or that it was olive green at all? At present time, grey/green camouflage is scarcely coherent with general believing. This would be a new information. :o It could explain why a lot of photos show low contrast camouflage, amt 11-12 should show a net contrast. Please, could you try to know more on this matter, and maybe the comments on Russian forums? Massimo Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: FPSOlkor on September 10, 2006, 04:03:14 PM So far the only thing causing the contraversy is the cap on the fin... Due to memos planes were dark green - light green, Red noses, red stars with white outlines. The planes were first delivered as a zveno to each squadron of the regiment, and only after 2-3 month they were assembled in to one squadron (official story tells that these planes were straight away delivered in to one squad).
Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: Massimo Tessitori on September 10, 2006, 10:22:19 PM Hi Oleg :)
La-5FN in light green and dark green? According to some book, they should be green/black or grey/grey only. And what about La-7s? Are all memories consistent on this point? This looks important for all those interested in Lavochkins. Please, keep us informed. Massimo Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: FPSOlkor on September 11, 2006, 02:38:09 PM Well? 7-s were Gray-Gray. But there were no Arats among 7-s. Oh, yes - they all carried Guards symbol on the planes. Red noses were present to the end of war.
Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: Massimo Tessitori on September 12, 2006, 06:45:43 AM Hi Oleg, :)
green/green camo is new for La-5FN, in my knowledge. But it looks compatible with the photo at http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=41e643ccf0bdc85162910799944bd2a8&threadid=185796 Could you try to identify color chips, please? I think AMT olive green and AII dark green but who knows? Massimo Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: FPSOlkor on September 12, 2006, 06:28:08 PM Well, sorry, but i'm not to good at colour names... Dark green and "khaki" is what B.I. Said.
I suppose something like this http://wp.scn.ru/ru/ww2/f/336/1/0/10 Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: Massimo Tessitori on September 14, 2006, 03:05:56 PM Hi Oleg, :)
this black/green profile is the current interpretation of the camouflage of Lavochkins till to F. An FN with this camo is already an interesting new. But, is it possible to show some samples to the veterans to know if this is what they mean with "dark green" and "Khaki"? Massimo Title: Re: Mongolskii Arat Post by: FPSOlkor on September 14, 2006, 07:05:14 PM Khaki is the colour of the standart red army soldiers uniform (something between olive and sandy). Dark green is the colour of the pine wood needles. Hope this descripton would help...
