Hi, here is my profile of the Polikarpov U-2/Po-2 from the beginning of the war: It should be this plane (looks like the same the plane on the both photos): Ple plane was apparently repainted, the camouflage scheme quite well reminds NKAP scheme from the summer 1941 with the red stars already on the fuselage and the tail: Regards, 66misos

Hi Misos, looks good. The rear wire sustaining the rod is still missing. Regards Massimo

Hi Massimo, thanks for correction - wire plus two additional ones added and picture is replaced in my post above. Here is another Po-2/U-2, now in NKAP 1943 camouflage scheme: It should be this plane, according to info I found somewhere on the web is should be from Prague, summer 1945: I am not sure about exact camouflage fields, bud also Begemot and some others made it like this, so I did not speculate too much. Hi Misos, nice work as always. About the camouflage, a standard one is always legitimate, anyway it looks that many planes of 1945 had a two shades camo. It is represented as green-brown on the book of MBI, I suspect that they could be two greys. I'm sorry if this adds confusion to the thing. Regards Massimo

Hi Massimo, it is OK, it does not cause more confusion. To be honest, I did not find reliable authentic WWII photo of U-2/Po-2 in 3-color camo scheme. Basically they all are after-the-war reconstructions. This photo shows the whole aircraft with the board number, so I took it. And as camo scheme is a bit questionable, I decided for standard camo: Here is the same plane, but from the other side: Regards, 66misos

Hi Misos, I suggest to change the number. Here are some photos of planes surely with 3 colors camo. Uncertain (probably 2 shades) probably 2 shades The photos of planes with 2 shades should be taken for the most in Czechoslovakia; there could be some way to clarify the colors. Regards Massimo

Hi Massimo, Great pictures, thanx! That 3-color "21" looks nice, the same camo scheme as on "49". However, what could be color of the number 21? Looks different from red star. If I have s time at the end, I will rework it. Regards, 66misos

Hi Misos, I can't say the color, it seems red, but some dots look black. Perhaps it is a defect of the photo. I would represent it as red. The red stars have differently proportioned white outlines; probably it is the same thickness, but it is proportionally wider on the small star on the tail. The red outline, if any, looks extremely thin. Regards Massimo

Hi Massimo, no special book about Po-2 now, all my current profiles should go to the book about VVS WWII bombers. Here is the same Po-2 from the bottom with 6 bomb racks: Regards, 66misos

Hi Misos, it's the only one you have made in four views. Will you draw the front too? Good work indeed. Regards Massimo

Hi Misos, interesting work. I wonder if one should see dark under the thickness of the fairings of the legs, in the view from below. Regards Massimo
