Musa! Hi! It's very good to see you again, and also very, very good to have someone with your knowledge of Russian modelbuilding as a member of the forum! Welcome!

It's excellent news that we will soon have a new 1/72 kit of the Yak-3. Please let us know when you have more information - are you allowed to tell us the name of the manufacturer?

Now I have to ask the same question I always ask - is it possible that there will be a new 1/72 kit of the Yak-1b? Wink

One more question - here's a link to a page from the Dishmodels.ru site. I think the author is working on masters for a new 1/72 R-5 kit, possibly for South Front. Do you know anything about this project?:

Thank you, and again, welcome to the forum!

Thanks John!
Yes of course I'll let you know how to be news. Yak-3 will be released from the "Southern Front". I'm told it will be their first model cast under high pressure. They are working on a series of R-5.
Yak-1b, as far as I know, too, in development, but is planned as a resin kit another firm. Now being developed 3-D model. Work has been underway for quite some time. What exactly are the prospects can not say.

Thank you, Musa - a 1/72 Yak-3 and an R-5 series from Southern Front is all very good news. For the Yak-1b, I guess I'll have wait a little longer for an injection-molded styrene kit, but I'm still happy to know that a resin version may appear some day!

Those Natashas look nice!  I especially like the transport version with the enclosed cockpit for the pilot.  I didn't think I'd see that in kit form.

Hi Walker,
thank you for the information. Yak-3 is an highly interesting plane, and a new model was needed.
I hope that further Yak kits will follow.

Musa, thank you very much for the good news! Coming from Zvezda, I'm sure it will be a high-quality kit, and it will be widely available. One more reason to look forward to Spring!

Excellent news!  If it's as nice as their Pe-8 it should be a very nice kit indeed.  Speaking of the Pe-8, under the revised tool list I saw the TB-7 listed - I wonder if that means they're doing a different, earlier version perhaps?  I also saw the Il-4 - now that's one I'd be interested in.

TB-7 probably with other engines. IL-4 is an old model of "Alpha", with minor modifications. Also promised to restore the release of the Pe-2.
