Title: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on January 03, 2016, 07:44:11 PM Hallo,
I have started it at summer time, but I had energy to upload it now. I knew that the cockpit will not be seen therefore I have not worked it out too much. I have used the Mr Paint 14 to paint the inside of the cockpit. it looks a good start. I've the same kit and I want to build one some day. I se that the wing joints required some putting and filing. Please, copy and glue your post on the backup forum at http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/board/index.php (http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/board/index.php), because this one is expected to expire soon. Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on March 20, 2016, 09:22:47 AM I could go ahead with this a little. I have not had bigger problem with the building, but I could make the engine cover only in steps. I could glue it daily, it took me a week to finish it, but it really fits now. (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-15_zps8rx5slbj.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-17_zpsazhvpo2p.jpg) I try now a specific painting method with what I try to show the difference of the appearance of the metal and wood parts. Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Massimo Tessitori on March 21, 2016, 06:32:10 PM Hi,
interesting method to make difference between wooden and metallic parts. I wait to see better the result. Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on March 26, 2016, 05:10:19 PM Some more picture about the progress.
My wish was to be ready by the XX.Mosonshow, but it seems I will run out of time. . http://www.mosonshow.hu/?page_id=1506 (http://www.mosonshow.hu/?page_id=1506) To paint it I have used several types of paints: AMT-7 Blue Mr.Paint AMT-7 AMT-6 Black Tamiya Nato Black mix of AMT-4 Green Gunze H-58 and a little RLM-70 (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-37_zpsgtg9qppl.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-38_zpsisyutj7u.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-40_zpsk3z3cy4a.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-41_zpsy7mhjpke.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-42_zpsfgtvu08l.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-43_zpskych1tdv.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-44_zps2jgqjcju.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-45_zpse1qdhm7c.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-46_zpspj5dw6lx.jpg) Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Massimo Tessitori on March 28, 2016, 07:30:12 PM Hi,
nice work, but I fear that black needs of a second layer. Now, airbrush strokes are too evident. Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on April 10, 2016, 10:25:54 AM And now the next ...
Massimo, the painting of the AMT-6 is a little rugged by purpose Unfortunately the masking was snatched off the painting. (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-49%20%203_zpssgvn1ate.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-48%20%202_zpsck3rsboc.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-47%20%201_zpsuqgx7jrq.jpg) I have started the decaling and making the black base of the shark mouth after the varnishing . (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-50_zps7liuoecr.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/La-5-51_zpstjdkx4xz.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/la-5-52_zpswxhpr8ad.jpg) (http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/vadasz/la-5-53_zpsghfvkya6.jpg) Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Massimo Tessitori on April 10, 2016, 01:40:02 PM Hi, I see. It's soming out a good work.
I wonder if it would have been good to fill the lines of the fasteners before painting, and then add them with stripes of aluminium or painted paper after the camouflage. Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on May 01, 2016, 04:21:03 PM Hello,
There are some problem on the kit and they are not because of the quality of the model but because of my faults. After repairing the painting I made the decals than I had a rest and than repaired the decals. looks like you have had a good success in improving the decal of the sharkmouth (or crocodilemouth, who knows). Did you use softeners for decals? Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on May 01, 2016, 07:05:04 PM Yes I have used softener, and the shrivelling was caused exactly by that Gunze Set-Sol.The left side was done by the Microscale product, the decals of the Zvezda reacted better on that. The decals looked too hard, and the Microscale could help. Title: Re: La-5 1/48 Zvezda Post by: Ohotnyik on May 07, 2016, 07:20:19 PM I think it is finished.
