Title: Colored gallery Post by: PG monster on January 17, 2018, 12:33:04 PM https://klimbim2014.wordpress.com/
Started long time ago, and still active! Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: 66misos on January 17, 2018, 05:21:43 PM It was already posted here a time ago. Anyhow, thanks a lot for posting it again, I like Klimbim's work very much, fantastic color journey to the history.
Something what attracted me from his site related to this site: (https://klimbim2014.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/soviet-air-aces-capt-aleksandr-klubov-maj-grigorii-rechkalov-lt-andrei-trud-and-maj-boris-glinka-mid-1944-ww2.jpg) (https://klimbim2014.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/soviet-aces-ww2-hero-of-the-soviet-union-kulagin-andrey-mihailovich-standing-in-front-of-the-fighter-lagg-3-series-66.jpg) Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: PG monster on January 19, 2018, 07:40:32 AM Ja, cool ones :)
Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: PG monster on January 19, 2018, 08:29:55 AM Very detalied! (I doubt the spinner is red - source http://ava.org.ru/shap/566/566-shap-1944-max.jpg )... But just stunning:

the detail of men is impressive. Though, the plane isn't very well made, I see red areas on the blades and tooth, and the camo is unreliable. I see that the spinner is matt while red paint should be glossy. Some cleaning of white dots could have improved the image too. https://klimbim2014.wordpress.com/2018/02/17/night-witches-%d0%bd%d0%be%d1%87%d0%bd%d1%8b%d0%b5-%d0%b2%d0%b5%d0%b4%d1%8c%d0%bc%d1%8b/ I see this foto in such HD resolution the 1st time. What a type of (tri-motor?) plane at the background? She interpreted the camouflage as green, but here as gray-blue : https://klimbim2014.wordpress.com/2015/04/02/soviet-air-force-officers-rufina-gasheva-848-night-combat-missions-and-nataly-meklin-980-night-combat-missions-decorated-as-heroes-of-the-soviet-union-for-their-service-with-the-famed-night-witche/ Strange... Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: Massimo Tessitori on February 20, 2018, 07:41:16 PM Hi,
beautiful images indeed. I don't exclude that Po-2s could have been painted in 2 greys in 1945, but this colorizing ignores the camouflage well visible on the tail of the bw version. BTW I'd not say "the camouflage well visible on the tail". Also I inspired some discussions on the russian forums. There are many versions about the misterious planes at the background. I think most probably the trimotor is SM.81, and 3 biplanes around are P-5 or R-5L PR-5 or or Po-2S. Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: Massimo Tessitori on February 22, 2018, 09:46:34 AM Hi,
I thought to an SM-81 too, but looked strange. Is the photo of 1945? Regards Massimo Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: PG monster on February 28, 2018, 12:29:56 PM Yes, June 1945. What you mean "strange" , too small?
Title: Re: Colored gallery Post by: Massimo Tessitori on March 01, 2018, 08:54:44 AM Hi, I meant that it is strange to see this type in 1945, in Germany after the defeat. it was a very old Italian type.
