I don't think many of the three-gun machines were used in the GPW.

here is the photo. (http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/colors/1943-45-fighters/la7-06.jpg) I've not other informations on unit and date. Probably it's a postwar repainting in dark grey. Regards Massimo Title: Re: Lavochkin la-7 yellow 06 Post by: 66misos on May 27, 2013, 09:55:12 AM Hi Massimo,
I read somewhere that these afterwar planes were painted green, similiar to Il-10 ??? 66misos Title: Re: Lavochkin la-7 yellow 06 Post by: Massimo Tessitori on May 27, 2013, 04:50:00 PM Hi Misos, it could be, I can't exclude it. I know that a veteran described La-9/11 'green and blue as prewar I-16s) and there are pieces of a Yak-9 with a green layer over a grey layer, but I think that grey was used in some period after the war.
In my idea, this plane has a red spinner. It looks more glossy than the nose. Regards Massimo |
