Had no idea the B-26 was in Russian service during WWII.

Interesting article, thanks for posting it barneybolac.  But I am not sure how trustworthy the information is, not least of all because the name of the site that published the article is 'Alternate History'. The word 'April' in hte inscription  doesn't seem to have the same perspective distortion as the airplane,  maybe it was Photoshopped?
And it says,  'Za Pobedu Aprelya',  which means 'For the Victory of April' -  I wander if it's a pun on the 'April fools' joke?

Forgive me for being sceptical.  the info in the article might be correct, in which case it's quite informative,  but I personally would double check any of the facts in it before quoting them, just to make sure that they aren't fake.

Forgive me for being sceptical.  the info in the article might be absolutely correct, in which case it's quite informative,  but I personally feel a bit cautious, at first glance anyway.

Thanks for your answer it is fake I just found out none of it is real. They got me on that one.

No worries.  That's why it's good when we get to discuss these things on forums such as this one. You contribute a bit, I contribute a bit,  and that way we get to the 'truth' together. Thanks for confirming that it's not real.

Hi,  interesting as April's joke! Yes, that victory of April would have been surprising.
Besides the article says that the Il-4s were in the long distance aviation, but that unit was equipped with Il-4, there is even one visible on the background of the taking off B-26.

Yes that image is what sold me. Photoshop hard to detect at times.  >:(
