Title: Yatsenko I-28 Post by: 66misos on September 26, 2017, 12:19:25 AM Hi,
here is my profile of the second Yatsenko I-28 prototype with M-87B engine during the state trials, October 1939: (http://modelforum.cz/download/file.php?id=1338710) in this camouflage: (http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/pages/colors/1937-40/i28-1_labeled.jpg) http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/pages/colors/1937-40/1937-1940.html (http://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/pages/colors/1937-40/1937-1940.html) More photos and info (in Russian language) at http://propjet.ucoz.ru/forum/12-103-1 (http://propjet.ucoz.ru/forum/12-103-1) Regards, 66misos Title: Re: Yatsenko I-28 Post by: Massimo Tessitori on September 26, 2017, 08:25:42 AM Hi Misos,
this drawing is interesting. My impression is that the spinner should be wider. On the photo, I see a linear protrusion over the nose too. I wonder if there is some way to scratchbuild this prototype by recycling parts of obsolete kits. I have found this photo on the net: (http://modelforum.cz/download/file.php?id=1338722) According to what I read this plane was designed with the closed cockpit, not with open one. Regards, 66misos Title: Re: Yatsenko I-28 Post by: Massimo Tessitori on September 27, 2017, 10:16:10 AM Hi Misos, this is good. It seems that the canopy had to be removed manually, as on I-200, 211 and on Yak-/4. I hope it was jettisonable from inside.

Massimo, Omega do a rather nice resin kit of the I-28. They also do the Pashinin I-21, which I also have, and is also a nice all-resin kit.

Looks very nice, apart for the canopy that was vacuformed badly and has an irregular surface of the windscreen. I could use it as a base for a new mould, or try to adapt another canopy.
