Title: Interview with Boreiko Post by: Massimo Tessitori on November 17, 2010, 11:10:38 PM Hi,
I've uploaded an interview with Yakov Ilyich Boreiko by Oleg Korytov and Konstantin Chirkin. http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/pilots/boreiko/boreiko.htm (http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/pilots/boreiko/boreiko.htm) There are some interesting notes on painting too. According to his experience, slogans on Il-2s photographed over Berlin were all painted after the war for propaganda movies. Besides, he writes about the use of yellow bands on Il-2s too. Stalingrad-Berlin... Title: Re: Interview with Boreiko Post by: KL on November 20, 2010, 01:42:27 AM Hi Oleg, :)
Was that movie, the "Victory", ever finished? It's not among the movies in Romm's filmography: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A0%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%BC,_%D0%9C%D0%B8%D1%85%D0%B0%D0%B8%D0%BB_%D0%98%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%B8%D1%87 The name of the movie could be different - confused with 1945 "Парад Победы" ("Victory Parade" was the first Soviet colour movie). Cheers, KL Title: Re: Interview with Boreiko Post by: FPSOlkor on November 20, 2010, 02:08:33 PM I can't really say... I saw BW stills from it, and from time to time brief episodes from it with Il-2s with inscription flying in formation are used in documentary programs on TV.
