Great to see Academy finally release this, as they've been sitting on the moulds for years! Looks like another kit on my must-have list. I'd still like to see Tamiya upscale to 1/32nd scale; the Hobby Boss kits are nice, but the Tamiya 1/48th scale kit is more accurate. With the eminent release of the Tamiya arrow in 1/72nd scale, we will now have three top-notch 1/72nd scale kits of all three versions of the Shturmovik in 1/72nd scale (although I wish the Academy single-seater did
not have the metal fuselage!). Oh well, I guess I'll just have to delay the release of my book until I get the Tamiya arrow and the Academy straight-winged two-seater. Interesting that they've chosen to tackle "White 24", a very unusually-painted Il-2, although it seems to me that their guess at the scheme is a decent one.
