Title: La-7UTI scheme Post by: ksc on December 10, 2013, 05:07:58 PM Hello,
I am wonder in what colour was La-7UTI painted. The colour seems quite dark in the photos. Instruction set for AML 1/48 conversion set stays that the colour scheme is AMT-12/AMT-7 but for me it is impossible as the top colour looks too intensive. Maybe it is AGT-4. Links to photos from other sites: (http://www.airwar.ru/image/idop/other2/la7uti/la7uti-1.jpg) (http://www.airwar.ru/image/idop/other2/la7uti/la7uti-2.jpg) Do you have any idea? I think it could well be AMT-12. AMT-12 and 4 are not clearly distinguishable on photos, sometimes one appears the darkest, sometimes it's the contrary. I suppose that it's the same for their glossy equivalents. Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-7UTI scheme Post by: 66misos on December 11, 2013, 12:43:45 PM Hi,
this I found in MBI bool "La-7 Lavochkin": (http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t518/66misos/La-7/La-7UTI_zpse31a8ad8.jpg?t=1386675118) So this is after war green/blue painting, something like on Il-10. can be, the photos don't allow to distinguish between these colors. For what I know the most likely postwar color for fighters was grey, but I don't know if it was for the trainers too. Later training versions of La-9 were likely green, but two or three years later. Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-7UTI scheme Post by: ksc on December 17, 2013, 10:17:25 PM Hi,
Thank you for sharing your opinions. I could agree that the La-7UTI top colour is A-24g or similar. Regards, Karol S. Title: Re: La-7UTI scheme Post by: KL on December 18, 2013, 01:37:31 AM IMHO, La-7UTI prototypes were painted in standard prewar, 1940 scheme:
- upper surfaces were "Protective" green - lower surfaces were Light blue it is known/confirmed that other postwar planes have been paintad in the same scheme: Il-10, Yak-9, Tu-2. Solid dark gray AMT-12 or solid blue-gray AMT-11 for upper surfaces were never official schemes (probably exist only on Pilawskii's drawings). This is very possible, anyway it doesn't exist only in drawings of EP. Here is an article from M-Hobby http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_954_start_220.html (http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_954_start_220.html) and a color table from it showing a grey-blue Yak-3 http://postimg.org/image/s89av6o4/ (http://postimg.org/image/s89av6o4/) Regards Massimo Title: Re: La-7UTI scheme Post by: KL on December 18, 2013, 08:14:52 AM I quickly browsed through M-Hobby 4-1999 and there is almost nothing about the period between mid-1945 and mid-1946. Caption under Yak-3 says: top and sides were probably painted in blue-gray AMT-11. On color plate word probably has disappeared.
Solid blue-gray top and light blue undersides definitively existed - this became a standard scheme in post-war Yugoslav AF |
