Hi Guys,
It has been a while. I have been building a lot of armor and wheeled vehicles. Still am, but i want to squeeze this one in between
.
The model i have in thoughts, is the Yak-3 white 100 from the 402GvIAP in Germany early 1945. I have found only one photo with a misterious camouflage. On the photo i see a white prop and spinner, special nose art that vary in color (white with red, black with red, white with blue). Camouflage colors seems to be AMT-11 bluegrey AMT-12 dark grey and on the bottom AMT-7 Blue (faded) and a white tip on the top of the tail and rudder.
List of items i have for the model
- Zvezda 1/48 Yak-3 kit No. 4814
- Eduard Yak-3 S.A. Item No. 49641
- Komplekt zip Control surface, exterior details Yak-3 Item No. 48018 (control surfaces, oil cooler intakes)
- Komplekt zip Exterior details Yak-3 Item No. 48016 (Spinner, prop blades and exhausts)
- Vector resin Yak-3 wheel wells and corrected wingroots intakes Item no. VDS48077
- Armory Yak-3 wheel set Item No. AW48004
Also i have some parts of the old Eduard yak-3 Neomega resin cockpit. I think the seat is the most usable. Also some decals from the Eduard dual build Yak-3 kit and some masking (if it fits). When i had a look at some Print scale decals for my Yak-9D, i have seen the nose art on the sheet. Its for the Yak-9UT, but i can use it for the Yak-3 too. On the Zvezda decal sheet, there are also the same nose art decals. They are smaller and the sword at the end is black. So i want to use the Print scale decals.
The kit looks very crisp and the add ons are making sure that this will be a exelent model. I think there are two big challanges.
1. The placing of the corrected wingroots and oil coolers.
2. Figuring outout the camouflage pattern of the AMT-11 and AMT-12
Photo's will follow ofcourse
Regards, Remco
