This is a real work of art - the weathering is absolutely perfect, and the model looks like a real aircraft! I wish my models looked half as good as this one. Great work, Istvan!

Brilliant job on the Hurricane, and my models do look half as good - that's the problem!

Very neat bit of work.
Is there a reference photo for this, as I have not seen many good photos of VVS Mk.IIc's

Nice and serious-looking model. Good job on not going too far with the weathering!

Hallo,
Thank you your kind words.
Unfortunately I have no photo about this plane, so I have accepted and used the graphics of the Soviet Hurricane Aces by Yuriy Rubin; issued by OSPREY. I could found photoes in my collections and in the above mentioned book about the Hurrican Mk.II.C. VVS. Those all are part photoes or very small pics from a long distance, where only the type can be identified page 67. and 84. It is very interesting that there is only a few pics about this subtype. I think the reason is that the original versions were rearmed to Soviet ones after the wear out of the Hispano cannons. Therefore I think that the pics known as II.b partly originated from the Mk.II.c. version.

I suspect that the reason for so few photos of the Mk.IIc, rather than because of conversion to Soviet weapons, is because most of them went straight to training units. There is evidence for them being used for meteorological work, and these seem to have retained the original cannon - or at least their mountings.
