I am always interested in the References used at the bottom of many of the articles published here. Many I already own and others I can find for sale somewhere. However, two allude me. They are Sergey Kuznetsov's "Pervyi Yak" (Yak the First) 1995 and Dmitriy Leipnik's "Yak-9: Ryadovye nebes" (Yak-9: Soldiers in the Sky) 2000 as mentioned in Alexei Matvienko's "What would it take a Yak to make?" from last year.

I am based in the UK. Does anyone know how to get hold of these?

I do know of one Ukrainian retailer who occasionally deals through EBay. Any other recommendations?

Most often, I've bought some rare VVS books only by using advanced search features of ebay, otherwise I'd have missed 'em. In this way, I obtained the Pervyi Yak, which really is quite the reference for I-26s and suchlike.

Now that I-26s no longer plague me as they once did (!), I'd be happy to trade for plastic or sell this book to, or with, you -it's in good condition, but as you may be aware typesetted entirely in cyrillic.

PM me if you're interested -and I live in the UK also.

Cheers.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I admit a small mistake.... After I posted this I had a quick look again at my library and pulled out my 'Polygon Yak-1' book. It had hastily been described to me as the 'Yak 1' book as my Russian and Cyrillic know-how is a little limited. Thakfully by wife is Russian and she normally sets me straight on these matters.

Closer examination proved that this book was the "Pervyi Yak" book I was after. This left me quite pleased although a little embarrased that I posted this without checking more closely. You live and learn. Sorry about that.

I obtained the book on EBay through the Seller I mentioned earlier. I will go through the links you chaps have mentioned in my continued quest for "Yak-9: Ryadovye nebes"..... Many thanks everyone.

By the way - we do have one very good retailer in the UK - check out www.aviation-bookshop.com
