Xan Title: Re: Toponim in handwritten Gothic Post by: xan on February 08, 2013, 11:22:02 AM so,
(http://www.master194.com/forum/download/file.php?id=12439) right now, we can observe the word "flieger" (up on the 632) and at the end "Juli 1941" (july of 1941) Title: Re: Toponim in handwritten Gothic Post by: Massimo Tessitori on February 08, 2013, 12:53:00 PM I think to read something as Russjagerflieger ... doppel (wing?)... july 1941. Not a place, only a banal comment and the date.
Regards Massimo Title: Re: Toponim in handwritten Gothic Post by: xan on February 08, 2013, 02:26:08 PM it seems that it's:
"russischer flieger von Massen (wassen) july1941" russian plane von massen? july of 1941 Xan Title: Re: Toponim in handwritten Gothic Post by: xan on February 08, 2013, 06:35:05 PM well, her is the definitive answer:
a member of my forum went to a german forum and this is the answer: Quote from: koukan R?ponse d'un forum allemand : "Milit?rflieger von Ostfront im Juli 1941 (wobei Milit?r mit zwei L geschrieben wurde)" Soit :"pilote militaire du front de l'est en juillet 1941 (o? militaire a ?t? ?crit avec deux L)" . L'appareil est un Polikarpov I-153. "Milit?rflieger von Ostfront im Juli 1941 (wobei Milit?r mit zwei L geschrieben wurde)" wich means: militar pilot in the east front in july of 1941 (militar was written with two L) internet is fantastic isn't it ? Merci beaucoup to all who replied to your question. Amazing how modern Germans can't read something written only 60 years ago... it's hard to find internet resources; following are the most usefull: Various styles for capital letters - http://www.kindredroots.com/What/germanletters/germanletters_caps.htm Lower case letters - http://www.kindredroots.com/What/germanletters/germanletters_lc.htm Here you may click on each letter and see individual strokes - http://script.byu.edu/german/en/kurrent.aspx (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm13/klesnikov/127iap/5a83_1-bck_zps355ec4a1.jpg) IMHO, it reads: "Russischer flieger von _r_ff_nsow Juli 1941" All this is for a Russian forum - if fourth word is a toponim, we will know what fighter regiment used vertical red line (on ridders) and small red star (on tailfins) as its markings. Regards Massimo Title: Re: Toponim in handwritten Gothic Post by: KL on February 09, 2013, 08:53:39 PM new interpretation is;
"Russchisher flieger von Russensau Juli 1941" "To Russian pilot from the Russian swine" Russian swine is I-153 fighter! It looks now that photo was taken by a sarcastic German soldier who was a peasant before drafted into the millitary service... Those who flied these planes saw them as seagulls. to German peasants they looke as (http://www.regierung-mv.de/cms2/Regierungsportal_prod/Regierungsportal/_Bilddateien_der_Arbeitseinheiten/LU/ELER-MV_2010/ferkel_500.jpg) (http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6214/6214050848_5e692f2ebb.jpg) Everything is there: pig's snout looks as frontal engine cover, ears look like gull-wings, legs, fuselage..... |
