Includes many shots with cowling panels removed, also a lot of cockpit images:

(This is the only remaining Yak-1b, and was "restored" just after the War using wing root parts from a Yak-3, as was discussed elsewhere)

A bit more about this - according to the first post in the thread, the photos were taken in December 2006 during some kind of technical inspection. I was hoping they were more recent, and that the aircraft was undergoing a proper restoration, but apparently not, unless something has happened in the past 4 years.

There is a total of about 180 images, although a few of them are duplicates, or close to it. There are some interesting shots of the inner surfaces of various panels. The aircraft's "restoration" at the end of the war was obviously pretty superficial, so it's likely that these are the original factory colours.

This would seem like a gold mine for anyone planning to do a highly-detailed build of the new Modelsvit 1/48 Yak-1b.

Hi John

it's late here, so I'm not going to go through the site right now, (which looks interesting) but the link you give goes to the MBR-2/MP-1 page, very interesting, but not a Yak 1B Cry

Didn't know about the Modelsvit Yak though.... neat.   Another one to get... I thought i had all the 1/48 Yaks apart from the Scale Bureau ones.

cheers

Oops - I'm an idiot. I suppose that's what the "Preview" button is for, isn't it? Wink Anyway, I edited my post with the correct URL for the Yak-1b thread. Just in case, here it is again:
http://karopka.ru/forum/forum212/topic457/

It sounds like you've already seen this, but just to be complete, here's the Modelsvit 1/48 Yak-1b link:
http://modelizm.pl.ua/publ/jak_1b_1_48/10-1-0-813

Thanks for letting me know about the incorrect link!

Hi John,
this walkaround is really impressive, particularly for the inside and engine. Thank you for having posted the link. I fear that we'll have a lot to do for the 1/48 model.
Regards
Massimo
