Hi,
I've made a small story of the evolution of the camouflage on Yak-6. It is surprising in some way .

Massimo,
that is really interesting.

Those colorized photos are from 1979 "Modelist-Konstruktor" magazine, check it at http://mkmagazin.almanacwhf.ru/avia/yak_6.htm
drawings by V. Kondratyev, OKB Yakovlev engineer - still the best available.  He provides camouflage scheme which includes: light brown, light green, black and "goluboy" light blue.

Art probably by E. Molchanov

Hi Konstantin,
the Yak-6 is surprising in many ways. Very few photos are known. Of the Yak-6M (subject of the nice Amodel kit and traced in this scale drawing) I've found only one photo, and it was silver or light grey, if I remember well. No camouflage. I suppose that Amodel has extrapolated its camo instructions from usual Yak-6s.

What i find suprising is that A-model went with Yak-6M not standard Yak-6. What is worth noting is that only initial series Yak-6 planes had retratable U/C most of production planes had fixed U/C. Reason was that difference in max speed with extended gear was 25km/h less but was way more reliable than retractable version. I'm not shure about Yak-6M tough. BTW i'll be building standard Yak-6 from A-model kit (i got me 2 Pavla U-2 sets (U72-30) which i originaly intended for old ALFA kit).

Hi Tiso,
I'm still undecided if trying a kitbash or building both kits. Perhaps I'll excange the engines between them, if the Amodel ones are better, because they remain much more visible. I would use Amodel pieces as a trace to build a new floor and some detail inside, if the outside of the Alfa is acceptable.
I have to say that I have not much ideas on what to do of the Yak-6bis,  except that finishing it with the box marks that perhaps are of fantasy.
