Hi ReDsTaR! Welcome to the forum! Here's a link to a walkaround of an early Yak-9P which had a similar propeller:
http://moskittech.ru/eng/myze/Yak-9P/Yak-9P.htm#z1

Images 1, 5, and 6 look like they will be helpful. Note that there is a total of 99 photos in the walkaround, spread over three pages.

Cheers!
John

Hi Hendrik,

could you post photos of your propeller?  is there any original paint preserved?  If there is, you should conserve it, not strip it (like most restorers do)?
Any information about the original paint would be valuable - its FS (or any other) equivalent, type of paint, how glossy/matt it is, etc.

this is Monino Yak-9P, some 5-10 years ago:

the plane is misidentified as "Yak-9U"!  Propeller is mislabeled as VISh-105...
Propeller stencil (red text) is coppied from old Modelist-Konstruktor (No4-1975) article about Yak-3
(http://hobbyport.ru/mkmagazin/avia/yak_3_4.gif)

The vertical text in the upper right corner reads:
VISh-105 Series-1

Hi again, Hendrik; the three photos I mentioned are the ones KL posted. I tested the link in my post and it works for me... ???

Propeller is mislabeled as VISh-105...

The vertical text in the upper right corner reads:

I was afraid of something like that! I wanted to try to read the stencil text on the blade in the photo and check a reference to make sure the prop was the same as a Yak-9UT, but of course, I was in too much of a hurry. But I didn't expect that it had been repainted with the markings of a Yak-3 propeller - this just proves, once again - don't trust restored aircraft to be correct!  ::)

Thanks, Konstantin!

John

Hi John,
this Informations are Perfect,exactly what I was looking for :D :D :D :D :D!
I have send you Pics to your Email Adress,I have not managed to set the pictures here ???
Perhaps you can send it here.
The prop was painted from a other Person, the same person that has welded the 3 Sticks on the Propellerbase >:(.
I think i must strip the Coating, perhaps under the paint is still original color.
I will begin over the weekend and will send pictures of the work.
Thank you very much again!

Regards
Hendrik

Hendrik has e-mailed me some photos of the prop blade he plans to restore and asked me to post them; here they are:

(http://s13.postimage.org/wvu4t98hv/Prop1.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/wvu4t98hv/) (http://s8.postimage.org/8itaky6m9/Prop2.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/8itaky6m9/) (http://s13.postimage.org/6289wdef7/Prop3.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/6289wdef7/)

Nice, although it needs a bit of work straightening those edges! I wish I had one - I could use it as reference material for the Amodel Yak-9U I'm working on right now... ;)

(Actually, the Amodel prop is fine - it's the exhausts I'm having a lot of trouble with!  >:( )

This is Yak-9U at the Museum of Flight in Seattle:

Again the stencil is an exact Modelist-Konstruktor copy!  Although the propeller on this Yak could be a real VISh-105.   ????

How do you know your propeller type?  is there a plate or an embossed number?

Thanks, Hendrik; yes, I'd be interested to see the pictures. We could post those, too - I'm sure others would like to see them.

You seem to have a lot of Yak parts - do you have a Yak wrecking yard (like what's now called an "automotive parts recycling yard")? ;)

Hi all,
@John
i have send you pics from the Exhausts.

I have striped the Propellerblade, and it was no old original paint to find :(.
Is it possible that this colours whas used:

The Propeller Tip                = A-6 gloss yellow

The Blade                         = ANT-6 Black or AMT 12 Grey

Description on the Propbase = A-13 semigloss red or AII semigloss red

Thanks for your Help ;)

Hendrik

Hi Hendrik,
are you sure that the tip was yellow? The most part of the Soviet prop blades I've seen were black overall.

Massimo

Hi Massimo,
i am not sure ???,I am a really a beginner to the color schemes :-\.
But only Black ANT-6  is good,is the Red a-13 the correct color(or is it probably the correct color?).
When i have the correct Colors i can bring the Prop next Week to the Paintshop(My Brother works as a Car Painter).

Hendrik
