Title: Mig-17 Walk Around needed
Post by: B_Realistic on November 05, 2012, 08:13:06 PM
Hi,

Because my Il-2 is almost finished my next project will be the Mig-17PF from Hobby Boss.
Does anyone has some pictures of weahtered Mig-17's?
When I take a look at Aircraftresourcecenter or Primeportal they are museum Mig's.
Thanks.

Michel

Is this one weathered enough?

Less weathered, but only 11 images:

This might be useful:

Or:

Here's six more, although most of them look like museumpieces:

John,

thanks for all the links. :D
I've put those one in my favourites.
That's what I needed.

I'm glad I could help! The one in my first post looks pretty rough - check those "Low-visibility" markings! ;)

Jason,

I've noticed that there aren't any markings anymore.
That's what I like about it.
All weahtered so it's nice as a reference for using those techniques.

Does anyone knows which cockpit colors I can use for the Mig-17PF? ???
I ask this before I use a wrong color. :D

Here's another MiG-17 walkaround; it's a -17F, but I'd believe that the cockpit colours were the same as the -17PF. These photos were taken while the aircraft was being disassembled for restoration; I hope they're helpful!

Hi John, hi Michel,
I've often seen turquoise cockpits for MiGs. Could this be a Czech-built plane, with grey inside? I suggest to check for further confirmations.
Regards
Massimo

I believe the colour you're referring to was used on later MiG's (MiG-21, MiG-23), but not the MiG-15 and MiG-17.

This search result might be useful, but note that not all of the images are of the MiG-17. Hover your cursor over any of the images to get a brief description:

Hi all,

At least Finnish MiG-21Fs and Us, delivered 1963-1965, were grey inside.

Cheers,

AaCee

@John
They are very helpful. :D
@Massimo
The specific turquoise green was used after the Mig-17 and introduced from the Mig-21.
