Title: Revell 1/144th Micro wings, re-issuing P-40, P-39 kits

HI all

back in the late 70's 1/144th Revell kits were a common sight, in the UK at least, those days lots of places sold model kits, I used to get them quite often from newsagents.

There were 12 kits I used to see all the time, and built most of, which were

H-1013 Spitfire
H-1014 Hurricane
H-1015 Typhoon
H-1016 Tempest

H-1017 Me 109
H-1018 Fw 190
H-1019 Stuka
H-1020 Me 262

H-1021 Mustang
H-1022 Thunderbolt
H-1023 Corsair
H-1024 Hellcat

and there were 4 that I never saw....

H-1025 Warhawk
H-1026 Wildcat
H-1027 Dauntless
H-1028 Airacobra

in the Revell of Germany re-releases they re-did the British and German subjects last year, and are now redoing the US subjects, including the last 4, and for the VVS modeller the P-40 and P-39 would be of interest.
They have a projected price of 2.49 euro each.

Given Zvezda do some 1/144th, it seems like you can now start to do a few 1/144th VVS models, which
at least don't take up much space....
[I'm wondering where I could actually display the vast amount of 1/48th kits I now if they got built!]

Just need some 1/144th VVS decals...you could actually do all the schemes on sheet in the scale!

The kits are pretty basic, with no interiors, but some were well shaped.  [The Hurricane is not good shape wise BTW, though I did paint one as the famous bort 60 with the wolf on the tail, the markings all hand painted, which I still have somewhere]

I can't vouch for how good or bad the P-40 or P-39 kits are..... I've not picked any of the re-issues up, though I want a Tempest and Typhoon for some practice conversions I'd like to do in 1/48th...
I'm wittering away now.

Jason, how is the Zvezda 1/144th Il-2 by the way?

cheers
T

Quite nice, Troy.  I don't do 1/144th scale, but of course I still had to pick it up.  It's a single-seater, and I could do an entire polk (regiment) for the space my Hobby Boss Il-2 takes up.

Regards,

Jason

If you want a 1/144 Hurricane, look to Sweet.
