Amazing how modern Germans can't read something written only 60 years ago... it's hard to find internet resources; following are the most usefull: Various styles for capital letters - http://www.kindredroots.com/What/germanletters/germanletters_caps.htm Lower case letters - http://www.kindredroots.com/What/germanletters/germanletters_lc.htm Here you may click on each letter and see individual strokes - http://script.byu.edu/german/en/kurrent.aspx (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm13/klesnikov/127iap/5a83_1-bck_zps355ec4a1.jpg) IMHO, it reads: "Russischer flieger von _r_ff_nsow Juli 1941" All this is for a Russian forum - if fourth word is a toponim, we will know what fighter regiment used vertical red line (on ridders) and small red star (on tailfins) as its markings. "Russchisher flieger von Russensau Juli 1941" "To Russian pilot from the Russian swine" Russian swine is I-153 fighter! It looks now that photo was taken by a sarcastic German soldier who was a peasant before drafted into the millitary service...
