Title: Tu-2 open engine question

Hi,

Because I've started my new project Tu-2T from Xuntong I've got a question about the engine compartment.
I've seen a picture that has been taken at a distance where the engine compartment is open and some braces where used to leave the top sides open. Does anyone has a clear picture how those braces where installed?

In absence of other images, it looks a pair of curved struts that are hinged inside the cowling and extracted when the part needs to be sustained.

It seems to look a lot of the Lavochkin La-5 engine housing...Cool model  8)

Hi Michel,
it seems that the 2 added photos are relative to different cowlings. The first one in factory should be an early model with the curved struts, while the second one without struts seems different. What is your version?

I've noticed that.
My is the Tu-2T version which has the curved struts.
Is the lowest picture from the Tu-2S version?
I presume that the struts had some attachment clips at the inside of the cowling when the cowlings are closed to keep them in place like a car?

I wonder if Shvetsov engineered the M-82/ASh-82 as a "power egg", where everything, including the necessary auxiliary equipment for the engine, were included in the cowling so it could be easily installed on different aircraft, as with the Bristol Hercules and the BMW 801 (I think these were power eggs)?
