Title: Lavochkin La-9 1:72 Steelwork
Post by: Sekunde on June 19, 2013, 10:18:25 AM
Hello,

here I show you some pics of my Lavochkin La-9. I made this model from my own (Steelwork) resin kit.

I read the discussion about my "to small" pics and some probable mistakes etc. in this forum.

You are right this is not a perfekt kit. But ironically I don`t know no a "perfect" kit. I have built many resin and plastic kits and other, but there were no perfect one...

Yes this kit must have some mistakes. But the most you can solve with your skills.

The price is normal (with 19 % VAT for EU-customers only), I think, this kit comes not from a large scale production company. It is a purely handmanufactured resin kit with decals and etch sheet. The resin is not the expensive factor, its the manufacture of the mouldings and production of the kit.

If there were any questions, ask me, please. Thank you!

Hi Sekunde,
very nice kit, really precise work.
What paints did you use? The kit looks painted blue on all surfaces. Wasn't it after-the-war grey or green on upper surface?
Happy modeling.

Hello,

thank you very much for your posts.

To the colours: I brushed my model with selfmixed colours from Vallejo. There were a little bit to many blue. :-\

I used the colours of an excellent restored Yak-11 plane from the German Museum in the town of Cottbus as example. I think these enfhusiasts had used the correct colours.

http://vorbild.ipmsdeutschland.de/Originalphotos/Jak-11_Cottbus/Jakowlew_Jak-11.html (http://vorbild.ipmsdeutschland.de/Originalphotos/Jak-11_Cottbus/Jakowlew_Jak-11.html) Its the same colour as the Chinese museum La-9 wearing today.

Its a complicate discussion about the colours...the most colours altered in direkt sunlight or flashlight.

That's a nice-looking model, Sekunde!  It certainly looks like an La-9 to me.

OK, my hat is off to you sir. :) It's one thing to build a good looking model like you have, but to produce the model too? That is outstanding! Great work on all counts!
