I am wonder in what colour was La-7UTI painted. The colour seems quite dark in the photos. Instruction set for AML 1/48 conversion set stays that the colour scheme is AMT-12/AMT-7 but for me it is impossible as the top colour looks too intensive. Maybe it is AGT-4. I think it could well be AMT-12. AMT-12 and 4 are not clearly distinguishable on photos, sometimes one appears the darkest, sometimes it's the contrary. can be, the photos don't allow to distinguish between these colors. For what I know the most likely postwar color for fighters was grey, but I don't know if it was for the trainers too. - upper surfaces were "Protective" green - lower surfaces were Light blue it is known/confirmed that other postwar planes have been paintad in the same scheme: Il-10, Yak-9, Tu-2. Solid dark gray AMT-12 or solid blue-gray AMT-11 for upper surfaces were never official schemes (probably exist only on Pilawskii's drawings). Caption under Yak-3 says: top and sides were probably painted in blue-gray AMT-11. On color plate word probably has disappeared.
Solid blue-gray top and light blue undersides definitively existed - this became a standard scheme in post-war Yugoslav AF |
