Anyone have additional information on this aircraft?

IIRC this photo is in the Czech MBI book, but that's not to hand,  it may have a better caption, but I can't check at the moment.

the 3 digit number is unusual.  Hopefully bumping this up will get a better response.

I think it is 85 with the white band.  if you read it as a 1, why is it not the same height as the other two numbers?

Hi
85 with an uncomplete white band seems likely: the numbers were applied in factory, and were the last two digits of the serial number.
It's not impossible that there were two planes numbered 85 at the unit, and that a number 1 was painted to make them different. The noseless digit 1 is compatible with the font used on Lavockins.
It would be good to find other photos of planes of the same unit to see if they had a white band.

Massimo

Observing the position of the numbers on other planes, one can wonder if the added on number on 185 is the supposed 1 or the 5. Or maybe, is there a deleted number after this 0?

You maybe right there looks like there was another 0 at some point.
Also have a profile of this aircraft no mention or drawn partial 0.
