Found this photo I have never seen before from the link below.
It is a new link listed for this year on that site.

Sadly only a partial photo.

Hi,
interesting, I've received the same photo from Timoshenko few days ago. We have the English version of the interview to Tikhomirov on our site, so I think that the photo was already available and forgetten because partial.
The short mast states that the plane has a straight wing, as from 1943 production; the photo itself is dated early 1944.
I've still to understand if it's the early or late model (perhaps one can see some difference in the canopy rails). Unfortunately it's impossible to determinate the factory of production and the exact size of the stars; I would exclude Z.30 because the had the red star more or less where we see the number, so Z.18 and 1 are more likely because they have the number moved backwards.  Unfortunately the thing is not indifferent because the planes of Z.18 had metallic wings, and those of Z.1 had wooden wings.
Photos of planes of the same unit in 1945 don't show anything particular on the spinner, so we can assume it was white on this plane.
Probably I'll make a profile, despite my doubts.
I wonder about the color of the 12. Looks darker than the starlets, and I've the vague impression that the central part is darker. Perhaps it could be black, or black with red outline.
Regards
Massimo
