Title: Il-4 - was turret armament upgraded to ShVAK 20mm? Post by: huevans on July 11, 2007, 04:33:06 PM Am working on the Zvezda Il-4 kit with Goffy aftermarket sets for engines and interior. The turret armament supplied in the set does not look like an UBT 12.7mm hmg. It's larger and a different design.
I'm wondering if there's any evidence that the Il-4's turret gun was upgraded to a 20mm ShVAK at some point. Or whether the only upgrade was the early war change from a ShKAS to an UBT? |
