it's an interesting model of an important plane. About the second painting scheme: the photo is partial only, but I think that it's a typical prevar one with all silver or, more likely, silver on fabric surfaces and light grey on metallic surfaces. The disposition of red stars could easily be the prewar one, over and under the wings and on the fuselage sides. All seems oversprayed with mottles of green, black and possibly beige. I agree with Massimo regarding the second scheme: it is a prewar overall silver plane mottled with dark green. Undersides were almost certainly left in original silver, NOT repainted in light blue. Two small technical details that could be changed in your painting instruction: - for Yugoslav UT-2 it would be more accurate to say "silver nitro varnish" instead of "silver dope". Dope is varnish that impregnates fabric, in those times fabric was first impregnated with clear nitro varnish and then painted with silver paint. - "Antologia Yak" website describes most UT-2s as light gray and only one as "silver-gray". IMHO, most (probably all prewar single coloured) planes on photos on "Antologia Yak" website are silver, some are painted in combination silver fabric + light gray metal. Term "silver-gray" can be found on modern Russian forums, but paint with this name did not exist. Correct name for silver paint is AII Aluminium or AE-8 Aluminium. HTH, KL PS: nice boxart!
