Title: Polikarpov R-5 and R-Zet profile
Post by: 66misos on May 14, 2017, 03:23:49 PM
Hi,
here I made a profile od Polikarpov R-5:

It should be this plane:

I am not sure about color of the "N" struts between upper and bottom wings. On the photo they look brighter than fuselage. Is it only a light reflection, or are they same (blue-)grey like under wings? ???
Regards,

Hi Misos,
looks good.
I see that the cooler looks darker in photo; beside the red star on the fuselage should be smaller (compare it with the line of the passenger's opening)
and the wing frames look light.

Massimo

Hi Massimo,
thank you for comment. I replaced corrected picture of the R-5 in my previous mail above.

Here my profile of Polikarpov R-Zet:

It should be this WWII aircraft:

Rear cockpit canopy and Shkas machine gun detail:

Hi Misos,
well done, as usual.
I think to see light frames on the photo.
The digits should be a bit more extended upwards.
The light halo around the footsteps doesn't seem good, it gives the look of patches.

Massimo

Hi Massimo,
thank you for comment.
I reworked the light halo around the footsteps.
I think digits are OK. From the top - they are aligned or a bit lower than upper part of the strut beween vertical and horizonta stabilizer. And from the bottom, the space between digits and horizontal stabizer is wide as roughly half of the digits hight.
Struts between upper and bottom wings are dark on the vast majority photos I have found. So I made them dark green, not grey like on the R-5.

A have repaced the profile above with the reworked one.
What frames do you mean, plsease?

Hi Misos, I meant those between wings and fuselage that seem light in the front photo of n.10. I don't know if this is an effect of the light from the left or real.
