I-153. the wheel bay is vaguely visible in light shade under the fuselage.

Hi,
I think that it could be blue as planes of 1940-early 41. I think that there is a metallic panel under the star, if it was a case of green uppersurface repainting from a prewar auminum-grey plane the panel should contrast on the fabric background.

I'm certain you talk about this in your research section on pre-GPW colours, Massimo, but weren't some aircraft painted green over grey/aluminium (not that this one is - you're probably correct about it being blue)?

yes, but in 1938-39. I-15 bis, I-16 and similar. Else, it could be that some silver-grey planes were repainted green in 1940-41.
