Title: Pavel Kutakhov 19 GIAP P-39Q white #10. Post by: barneybolac on September 09, 2020, 06:35:36 PM Any photographic evidence for this red nosed P-39?
(https://i.imgur.com/ss2xKJah.jpg) Looking around on numerous sites Kutakhov is photographed next to many partial photos of P-39's over his career with them. No complete image though with a #10 with a red nose. https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fava.org.ru%2Fiap%2F19g.htm https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsoviet-aces-1936-53.ru%2Fabc%2Fk%2Fkutahov.htm Based off what I have found it looks like #10 may not have been his plane at all. Found this profile in a Russian book that I translated. (https://i.imgur.com/oDrTfBYh.jpg) (https://i.imgur.com/68H6BF3h.jpg) From the first link I posted I believe the photo has him listed in front of a P-39 with a number 1 visible and maybe the edge of a #0. Have the profile artists misunderstood what this photo is and who it was used by during the war? (https://i.imgur.com/KP19HZzh.jpg) Title: Re: Pavel Kutakhov 19 GIAP P-39Q white #10. I don't see traces of red noses on those pages. Besides the P-39s with white spinner seem all camouflaged, not OD. |
