Title: 240 IAP La-5F/FN ?
Post by: Massimo Tessitori on November 13, 2021, 07:25:38 PM
Steph would like to know when did the 240 IAP receive their first La-5FNs, but for some reason the site doesn't allow him to create a thread, so I'm doing this for him.

Hi Massimo,
for some reason the site doesn't allow him to create a thread,
I use this thread as a test to check if I may at least answer. It's the same for me, I'm unable to create threads .
I wanted to post my last productions. Here are  links to french forum

Hello,

Thank you Massimo to open this thread for me.

Allow me to explain why I would like to know this info.

For one of my future projects I would like to build a La-5F/FN? flown by K. A. Evstigneev during the period Fall 1943-Spring 1944. I found several informations regarding this aircraft with which Evstigneev claimed the most of his victories. I found most on these informations on Russian sites.

First info: La-5F "black 96"

Second info: La-5FN "black 96" and a serial number 39210796 !!!

Third info: La-5FN "white 95"

And other info (only suggested): La-5F or FN ? "white 95" repared after to have been damaged during March 1944 and become "black 96" after reparations... But I think this info is not probable because, mostly, the aircraft number marked on the fuselage is often (if not always) the last 2 digit of the serial number)

So, here is my question to try to know the model (F or FN ?):

Is it possible to know from when the 240 IAP received its first La-5FNs?

If the 240 IAP received its first FNs during Summer or Fall 1943, we could know the model. Will just have to find the number (95 or 96 ?)

Regards, Steph

Hi, I had to post this question breaking it in brief parts. Seems that it is possible to reply or create new threads, but with brief posts.

Please, try and let me know if the thing functions.
Regards
Massimo
