Title: Il-10 with two greys camouflage Post by: Massimo Tessitori on January 20, 2023, 08:15:30 PM Hi all,
I've received a photo of an Il-10 built in factory 18 from Alexey Valyaev-Zaitsev. It is thought to be painted with the grey-grey camouflage that was prescribed in 1945 for all planes, but probably wasn't widely applied. (https://massimotessitori.altervista.org/sovietwarplanes/pages/il10/camoww2/il10z18twogreys.jpg) The camouflage shows two shades, each covering 50% of the upper and side surfaces. It doesn't resemble to the template of 1945 for Il-2/10, but has some resemblance to the one utilized for fighters. The image should be from the museum of the factory. I think that they passed to green uppersurfaces very soon, perhaps even during the war, but it is very possible that postwar photos were described as wartime ones.
