Hi, you could check again by scanning or photographing some chips of such colors and other ones and seeing if the image on the monitor resembles the original.

Received my copy in the mail today as published by Icarus Aviation Press. At first glance, it is very comprehensive and a welcome addition to my reference library.
Book is 224 pages in hardcover. It is filled with text, photos, schematics, color profiles and scale plans. Mark Proulx |

Ah, ok.
Yes, I see this chip as dark grey with a (very very) slight blue component. Purple not so much. And they appear almost identical on both of my monitors. The "bad" one depicts it a little more bluish, but only to a very minimal extent. As I said, in my case stark differences appear only with colors in the light brown/light olive green spectrum. Everything else is fine. Cheers, Christian |

I mean the chip of 79 on this scan.
Does it appear grey with a slight blue-purple component? Usually neutral colors are those whose variation is more evident. |

Dear friends,
Massimo has just published an article about the Il-2 prototypes, the TsKB-55, TsKB-57 and TsKB-55p. It is a more than one hundred pages pdf, with scale drawings in 1/72 and 1/48 scale, and many high-resolution photos from the state trials report. The late Klimov has prepared the original drawings, I have finalized and expanded them under Prof. Rodionov guidance, he has made available the original photos, and Massimo has prepared the pdf for everyone to enjoy. I believe that it is the most complete visual history of these airplanes produced today, but of course, any suggestion and correction of the inevitable mistakes is welcome. Best regards Daniele |

What do you mean? Nothing with Humbrol 79 on both pages...

Hi Christian, I see. I wonder how to resolve the problem of calibrating the difference of shades on a monitor. MI wonder if showing a chip of neutral grey could allow one to calibrate the monitor or his own perception. How do you perceive the chip of Humbrol 79 on the same page?
