hello friends,
already for a long time there are notices that a new Lagg-3 in 1/48 should appear soon. Perhaps all of you knows that such kit was announced by ICM (you can find this topic on our board as well).
But the latest news from Russian modeling forum FSM reveals that the kit of Lagg-3 in 1/48 very soon will be available from other producer in Russia which name is still undisclosed! This kit has nothing to do with ICM announcement.
From same forum I repost the pictures of the first injections of the kit:

It is known that there will be Lagg-3 in modifications of 3, 35 and 66

So look around for new kit!  Grin

Hi Audrius, Smiley
this is very attractive, even if I prefer to wait for ICM kit for comparison. Who knows if this one will have a detailed engine?
It's strange that the same type is discrovered contemporarily by two producers, after a long absence from the market. Undecided
Maybe a La-9/11  or Su-2  instead of one of these kits would be good.

hi Massimo and board,
here comes more pictures of this Lagg-3 series 4 in 1/8.
It is already known that the name of new producer is SF aka Southern Front translated, from Rostov.
In mid of June it should appear in the shops.

Hi, Smiley
it looks nice. Three versions should allow to make all other intermediate series with some modifies and kitbashing.
I hope that they will insert skis in some box.

Yes, I meant images of "dry assembled" parts of the new LaGG model. I see a lot of worki with fitting parts together.

In the near future on russian board there will be a review of this model.
I already have LaGG-3 from SF, and to tell the truth, I not in delight. Most unpleasant that it is longer approximately on 7 mm. and wing span is more approximately on 5 mm. But let's wait the review.

Hi, Smiley
I'm waiting for a comparison to the announced ICM kit. I expect a better quality.
Was it possible to locate the difference of length in some part of the model?
By the way, I am not so sure that the profile view of Voronin's drawings is perfect. An overposition to photos suggested that the fuselage is a bit too high.

Hi Massimo!

I know about mistakes in Voronin's drawings . I yet did not study model in detail, and have just checked up overall dimensions, recognizing that LaGG-3 length is 8.81 m, and wing span 9,8 m.
If it's interesting, I can to measure separate parts of the model.

Hi Sergey, Smiley
have you already made or found an analysis of those drawings? I would be very interested in such conclusions. What drawing can be assumed as a good reference for proportions?
I'm nearly sure that the fuselage is too high of 1 mm. I suspect that the nose is a bit short, but I can't be sure because perspective affects the proportions between nose and rear fuselage on profile photos.
Measures of the kit pieces are interesting if one has a reliable drawing for comparison.
Please, let me know.
