What colors are there? Red brown? White? Where are from?

I visited yesterday LaGG-3 crash site, presumably of 255 IAP VVS SF. Engine covers on this aircraft were first primed on both sides with red primer, then with yellow-green primer, and then exterior was painted in  camouflage colors.
Sequence of paint application on the fabric-covered wooden parts: yellow primer, silver, basic camouflage colors.

Except for the red VIAM B3 primer on metal parts, everything else is in compliance with the known standard practices.

Hellcat-70 didn't mention white   - what you see as white is bare metal.  This LaGG-3 was camouflaged in standard black-green scheme.

Red primer is most likely alkyd primer No 138



Delta dravesina used in LaGG-3 construction was also red.

Deluted VIAM B-3 wood glue was used as interior paint sometimes too.  The same glue is still in wide use - google Бакелизированная фанера (bakelite plywood)
