Looks interesting! There's a discussion on the Scalemodels.ru post-1950 forum, although it's difficult to follow the translation. Most of it is about the nose shape relative to (and among) other MiG-23 variants. Eventually the Art Model contact (Art-2) gives up and leaves...

Hi John,
this plane is one of my preferred ones, for its elegant shape. Perhaps I'll buy it, even if I have lots and lots of boxes, enough to build a small pyramid for my afterlife.

Hi Massimo! I like it just because it's unusual - a VTOL MiG-23? Different! Amodel has a MiG-21PD (E-7PD) as well, so with the Art Model Yak-36 and Yak-141, plus the Amodel Yak-38 and Yak-38U, one could build up quite a collection of Russian "jump jets" to add to the pyramid!

Hi John,
actually, I believe that it is a STOL plane and requires a run to takeoff. Similar stol devices were experimented on a sort of fixed wing Su-24 too, to shorten the run as an alternative to variable geometry wings, that were chosen after the comparison tests.

The list (and pyramid) of Russian STOL/VTOL aircraft just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Wink
