 This is a site covering aviation (and tanks), mostly Soviet/ Russian, but also some other nations. It included photos of both the machines and the people who operated them, i think it may prove useful (hope this is the right section to post this!):

Thank you for the link, Panayotis!  By the way, my mother's mother's name was Panayota - both my maternal grandparents were from Greece - Samos to be exact.  Efkaristo!
