The next project under development for Authentic Decals is for the Lisunov Li-2 and lend-lease DC-3; at this point, the artist is looking for suggestions and reference information (note the link to Massimo's Li-2 page!). His thread on Scalemodels.ru contains some good photos/movie stills, so far:
http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fscalemodels.ru%2Fmodules%2Fforum%2Fviewtopic_t_38130_start_0.html&act=url

(Apparently it's a rush project - maybe he has secret information regarding future release of a 1/72 Li-2? In Russian, the question by "57" is about exactly that (the original shows "ли-2"; the translation shows only "2", not "Li-2"), but "Foxbot" declines to give a direct answer.  Cheesy )

Hi John
this is very interesting, but I fear that the military Li-2 would require the release of some conversion kit to become popular as subject of models. Who knows if anyone there is willing to create such a thing? The night bombing version would be the most appealling one.

Somebody just released an Li-2NB, however in 1/144th scale (Amodel?).  Who knows - if it does well, the may release it in 1/72nd scale.  Otherwise I'm going to have to redo my old conversion to get a night bomber out of it.

Hi Jason,
I think that the kit of Zvezda is in 1/200. I wonder what is the market target, probably wargamers.

That's the very one, and that's where I saw it.  Thank you, Bert!  Now if there were some magic way to combine this kit with Amodel's L2D Tabby (Japanese-built DC-3), then we'd have an Li-2 night bomber.  If only!
