Interesting tail marking on a C-47. White raindeer head on tail with US serial 252344.
You can see it at 00:14:32 in the following docudrama:
Вторая ударная. Преданная армия Власова (Second shock. Surrendered army of Vlasov)

Same nose art as on the IL-2 @ Kirkenes.

Hi,
interesting image for who is interested to C-47s.
The restoration of the Il-2 looks not exceptionally well made, I've the impression that the rear fuselage has a too angular section and the stabilizator is a bit narrow.

I think you're correct, Massimo.  The colour scheme is incorrect also - our old "friend" brown/green.  I think the Norwegians are better at restoring Luftwaffe aeroplanes than Soviet ones.

I suspect that the raindeer amblem on IL-2 is not historical?

Considering the other inaccuracies (brown/green scheme, incorrectly restored fin, yellow propeller tips) you may very well be correct.  I'd like to see the IL-2 photograph that they based the emblem on.

Interesting.  So it was restored in Russia.  Sad that the Russians don't even know how to properly paint a Shturmovik.  I suppose they couldn't read any of Orlov and Vakhlamov's work, since it was only in RUSSIAN.  It's like the flight simulator Wings of Prey, designed by Russian programmers, where the American, British, and German aircraft all have (apparently) accurate camouflage, but where the Soviet 'planes are wrong.  When I pointed this out to one of them, he sent me an e-mail that contained profiles from Wings Palette.  Nice.  But I suppose that's a topic for another thread.

Jason

Just to be exact- the movie title translates "The 2nd Shock Army, or Betrayed Army of Vlasov's"
The markings are interesting, indeed:)

This Reindeer looks like it's possibly loaned from Finnaviations SAAB 340s tailfin. http://www.mikkeli.fi/fi/kuvat/01_palvelut/03_asuminen_rakentaminen_ja_liikenne/08_lentoasema/06_historia/01_mikkelin_ilmailuyhdistys/10_finnaviation_1987.jpg
