Hi guys,

I'm finishing Alksnis I-5 (ICM) and work on Pavlov's I-4 (Nakotne) is well underway, so I was wondering if anything at all is known about them, other than their position within the Air Force and the planes they flew. Things like what were their full names, their aviation background and what became of them.

Looked for it on the net but there's almost nothing about their lives.

Thanks!

Javier.

Thank you so much, Konstantin.

That's great info and unveils a mistery since I first heard about them.

Have a great weekend,

Javier.

Interesting about Pavlov & his WW1 history. While looking at that I stumbled on this link showing a Russian Bristol F2b. Have to assume it was post WW1 civil war most likely & a captured aircraft by the red army.

Nice! That would make a great looking model. Thanks for posting it!

I was thinking the very same thing, John!  One of these days I need to do an early Bolshevik model, maybe one with some of those unusual Bolshevik markings (like black stars!).  I suppose I'll get to one after I do my Soviet (ex-Latvian) Gloster Gladiator.

Now that is sharp.  I like the bat.  I definitely need to do one of these WWI 'planes in Bolshevik markings.  If nothing else, they're nice and small models.

Thanks, lads!

That'll come in handy. Great pictures as well on the thread, those F.2b and Camel look awesome. Thank the modeling gods I managed to get the 1/72nd decal sheet for the Nieuports. Their variety is lovely.

All the best,

Javier.
