Awesome work! That is inspiring to me, as I'm building the same kit! Smiley

Hi,
thank for your appretiation :-)

The white looks a bit to nice,
It was photographed outside during the day light, cloudy, no direct sun. But due to high contrast between white and black/green my camera with auto setting made white color a bit overexposed. In reality it is a bit more worn. As I wrote, I did not apply significant weathering as this plane was quite new and used on the frozen snowy airfield.

The weathering is great and the effect from the white is very good.
Love the exhaust stains.
Tremendous good job. Cheesy

And this is my Lavochkin family (LaGG-3, La-5, La-5FN and La-7) in 1:48:

@66misos
Does this mean that you can start the Yak family? Grin

Hi Misos,
your collection of Lavochkins is remarkable.
About the filtered photo, sorry but it don't resembles an old bw photo, but the photo of a green plane with khaki stars. Maybe you could try reducing its saturation, it would look better.

Hi B_Realistic,

it means exactly that! :-)
I already have Yak-3 (pictures posted in the different thread) and I just started Yak-1 (Baranov's plan), both in 1:48. However, I am not such a "fastbuilder" like Jonbius ;-(
And waiting for some really nice Yak-9 in 1:48...

Hi Massimo,
of course that "b&W" photo has far from perfect. I see it on my monitor very little yellowish, like old photo, nothing like green plane. I did not want to spent too much time with that, I want to finally finish picture of Sukhov's P-39 to discuss that profile.
Anyhow, thank for your comment  Wink

Nice Lavochkins, 66misos!  I'm trying to do the same in 1/72nd scale.  I've almost finished my version of Galchenko's LaGG-3, I'm finishing up Galchenko's La-5F, and I need to do a bit of repainting on a rare black/green La-5FN (I very stupidly used the wrong airbrush paint bottle and ended up spraying a bit of black when I thought I was spraying clear gloss!).  I also have a decalled La-5 that just needs some clear flat and putting some of the fiddly bits on and it will be finished.  I still need an La-7; I suppose I'll pick up one of the Eduard kits and do it as Kozhedub's aeroplane (of course).

Regards,

Jason

Excellent model - the weathering of the winter camouflage looks very realistic.

And waiting for some really nice Yak-9 in 1:48...

66misos

Same thing here, but in 1/72 scale. It amazes me how such an important and well-known fighter as the Yak-9 is so badly treated - the best in 1/72 is still the old Dakoplast kit, and in 1/48 probably the ICM one, but I hear it's not very accurate.

I very stupidly used the wrong airbrush paint bottle and ended up spraying a bit of black when I thought I was spraying clear gloss!
Jason

At least you didn't try thinning it with Testors liquid cement, like I did. But I'm sure the paint will never rub off!

Hi,
my endless project is finally done.

Hi 66misos.
I hadn't seen your completed model pictures before -- beautifully done! I have a question for you: How did you deal with the radio mast? I'm just at the point of attaching it on the one I'm building, only to discover that Zvezda only provides the later, forward-leaning version.

Thanks,
Pip

Never mind about the radio mast. I just discovered Zvezda provides both versions. DOH!
